LET’S TALK ABOUT HAIR GROWTH OIL!

How does hair grow?

Hair grows in 3 different stages: Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen. We get it, it sounds like science fiction! Well, let us demystify these fancy words.

Anagen: This is the active phase of hair follicle growth. During this phase, scalp hair grows about one cm every 28 days. The hair on your arms, legs, eyelashes, and eyebrows has a very short active growth phase of 30 to 45 days. This is why they are much shorter than scalp hair - thankfully!

Catagen: This is the short transition stage after the anagen phase. It lasts for 2 - 3 weeks while a club hair is formed. (What is club hair you ask? It’s hair that has stopped growing and which has been cut off from its blood supply. A tad icky - we know!)

Telogen: After the catagen phase, the hair is released and the club hair falls out. In this Telegen phase, when the hair follicle is completely at rest. Typically you will lose between 50 and 100 hairs per day.

So, what can we do to promote hair growth and prevent loss?
